2017 Undergraduate Recognition Ceremony RSVP

Global & International Studies (GIST) Majors and Minors are invited to attend the Global & International Studies Undergraduate Recognition Ceremony. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2017, 2:00 – 4:00 pm in the Ballroom in the Kansas Union.

Event Details:

Recognition certificates will be presented to each student. Please note these are NOT official diplomas. Info on how to pick up or have your diploma mailed to you available here: http://registrar.ku.edu/diplomas. Regalia is recommended, but not mandatory. Semi-formal attire is recommended. There will be a reception with cake and light refreshments to follow.

RSVP Guidance:

Graduating students should RSVP HERE and submit no later than Friday, May 5 to ensure their information is received and processed by the Center. GIST Majors and Minors graduating in spring, summer or fall 2017 may attend the ceremony. Please indicate that number for guests you plan to bring so we can plan catering and seating set up accordingly.  

Students who DO NOT submit this form will NOT be guaranteed that a certificate will be prepared for them. Students who cannot attend the ceremony but wish to pick up a certificate can make an arrangement to do so by entering a pick-up date (not later than June 5, 2017)  in the comments section below and by picking up the certificate from 201 Bailey Hall. Certificates will not be held after the middle of June and will not be mailed to students.

Students are also encouraged to sign up for the GIST Alumni Hub (CLICK HERE) to keep in contact, receive news updates and information on jobs, internships and networking opportunities and update us on your activities and achievements following graduation.

Please indicate whether you are graduating with a MAJOR or a MINOR in GIST.
Please indicate whether you will attend the ceremony on 5/11/17.
Please indicate which semester you are graduating.
Please indicate the number of people attending in your group. INCLUDE YOURSELF IN THIS NUMBER.
Please indicate your GIST Major Regional Specialization to be included on your recognition certificate: Africa; the Middle East; Asia; Latin America and the Caribbean; Western Europe; and Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Please include your GIST Major Substantive specialization to be included on your recognition certificate: comparative political and social systems; international business and the global economy; culture, ethnicity, and belief systems; literature, popular culture and the arts in the global context; gender and sexuality in the global context; and the global environment.
If you do not attend the recognition ceremony you may still receive a certificate if you wish. Please enter a date between May 16 and June 5.
Are you graduating with Honors for the GIST Major? You would have had to have completed the GIST Honors Capstone.
