Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships
The Center for Global and International Studies is pleased to announce that it plans to offer FLAS Fellowships for undergraduate and graduate KU students of specific critical languages. These fellowships are contingent on funding from the United States Department of Education. The Fellowships are for Academic Year 2010-2011.
For graduate students, CGIS plans to offer full tuition (some credit limitations may apply) plus a $15,000 stipend.
For undergraduate students, CGIS plans to offer up to $10,000 toward tuition plus a $5,000 stipend.
Fellowships will be limited to intermediate and advanced study in the following languages:
Persian (Farsi)
Students must enroll in a full year of language courses in addition to at least one approved area content-related course per semester. Applications from all disciplines and schools are welcome. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents.
Fellowship applications for 2010-2011 are due April 1, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the CGIS office at 318 Blake Hall. Award announcements are expected summer 2010.
