Darlene Budd

Dr. Budd has been teaching for the Global & International Master's Program at the Edward's Campus for nearly a decade. Classes taught include GIST 704 "Global Cultures and Societies," GIST 702 "Globalization," GIST 706 "Comparative Governments." Dr. Budd is an associate professor of Political Science, and the Director of the International Studies program in the Department of Government, International Studies and Languages. She teaches courses on Asian politics, women and politics, globalization and internaional studies at the University of Central Missouri. Budd recently received a grant from the Japan-U.S. Friendship Council to host a "Teaching About Japan" workshop for area high school teachers. Her research analyzes corporate responses to the gament factory fires in Bangladesh; and female representation in local governments. She received her bachelor's degree from Indiana University - Bloomington, a master's degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University, and her PhD in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
